New Posts

I am still not as caught up as I would like to be, but I think this concludes my back dating frenzy. I had to finish blogging Summer's birthday and our anniversary in the month it happened...or it would have never made it here.

Two new posts - backdated to the date they happened -
I have said this before, but I really hope to be back on a more regular basis come September! See you then!

"I Think We Need a Beaver"

Those were Connor's words when we opened our door this morning and saw this...Praise the Lord it landed oh so softly. No damage whatsoever. In our neighbor's words, it was guided by the same angels that dropped the other tree right between our parked cars LAST hurricane. Yea, it's tradition...we like to try to guess what tree will come down next. :)

Fall Bible Study Line-up Complete

It felt like a long time coming, but it all finally came together last week. The studies start in less than a month! I can't believe it. It will be a busy three weeks (once Fay leaves). I am grateful for the down time and the electricity. It has given me plenty of time to get some much needed work done (I really have done more than just blog!) :)

OK, enough rambling...here is the line-up:
I think this may be my favorite line-up yet. Some good studies listed...a few possibly my all time favorites. God did good! And it was well worth the wait.

Hurricane A Comin'

Or a stayin'... Fay should have been long gone, but is yet to pass by us...moving 2mph, I heard.

She has made her presence known in some wind and rain...schools closed, husband home from work...but thankfully we still have power. Which I means I can maybe catch up on some bloggin'!

I am going to back date some posts that should have been up here long ago. For some reason, I feel the need to keep it all in order. So scroll down...there may be something new.

OK, off to get started...

EDIT: Five new posts below and we still have electricity! Going to make dinner...stay tuned, tomorrow is another hurricane day! :)

Happy Anniversary!

Eight years! I remember us talking about our eighth year of marriage during our first year of marriage. It would be the year we would both turn thirty. We had big plans and many dreams... Life has turned out differently, but one thing has remained the same. We still have each other. I am thankful...and truly blessed.

OK, I really wanted to post some wedding pictures, but we are no longer own a scanner. Scanners hold bad memories...so thus, our house has been purged of them.

Our first Christmas together - we were engaged and I was beside myself in anticipation of what my soon-to-be-husband would give his soon-to-be-bride for Christmas. Can you guess it? It was my first clue that my romantic dreams were about to take a very nerdy turn. My dearly beloved bought me a scanner. A scanner. Granted it was the cutest scanner ever,(He did know me that much. If I am going to own something electronic, it better be the cutest one), but...still...a scanner.

That was the first and last scanner that has ever been in our home...and I can't say it stayed very long.

So, having said that...I share with you blurry pictures of our wedding pictures (taken by the cutest camera ever)...
I love you, Baby! And it really is true...I love you WAY more today than I did on that day. I would have never thought that possible.

Birthday at the Rain Forest

Summer's pick for a "birthday party" this year was the Rain Forest Cafe. We met family there on her 4th birthday and she had this yummy chocolate dessert that has had her talking about it ever since. So we arranged to meet family there again to celebrate...

The moving animals inside left my brave kids wide eyed...
Two of Summer's favorite people...The beloved cake...
After our very long lunch, we had some fun around Downtown Disney...After Downtown Disney, we made an evening trip to Sea World. I was way too exhausted to get any good pics, but it was a great end to a big day.

Changing Mr. Potato Head

Our "Littlest Mommy" has been caught diapering many things: baby dolls, stuffed pigs, herself. However, I think this holds the record for the funniest...

Big Little Brother

Over the summer, I would often wake up to this sight in the morning...

I finally asked Connor why they both were always on the same couch, he replied, "Summer gets scared and comes and gets me to hold her hand."

ME: "And you do it?"

CONNOR: "Yes. Don't worry, she goes back to sleep fast."

Such a big, little brother. :)

Messy

Or as Chloe put it when she saw these pictures, "Ewwww!"
I thought that was bad enough...then I pulled her away from the table...

Birthday Lunch at Grandma's

FYI: Grandpa really wasn't sleeping...
Birthday ride in the golf cart...
As they were pulling away I hear Summer say, "Grandpa, do you know golf carts are sometimes used for golfing? If you listen carefully you can hear 'golf' in the word 'GOLF cart'." :)
We made birthday cupcakes...
I love Connor's face in this one... :)
Our big 6 year old!
Off to Josh's house...
We left Grandma and Grandpa's house in time for a birthday dinner at Moe's (Summer's pick). Then we headed to Target to buy school supplies for TWO kids! It was a big day! But the celebrating wasn't over yet...

Some Pics from our Midnight Celebration

She is going to love me for this... :)
That is one tired but happy girl!

Happy Birthday, Sweet Summer!

Can you believe she is 6?! I sure can't!

The celebrating started at 12:03 am. Shawn had the brilliant idea of waking her up as soon as it was her birthday for some cake...chocolate cake! The candles were lit and we woke her up singing. Once she got over looking at us like we were crazy, she was a very happy girl. "This is the best birthday ever!", she exclaimed only a few minutes after midnight.

Summer, I cannot imagine our family without you! You keep us laughing at your silliness, loving your spunkiness, living through all your drama and cherishing every minute of it. You are a crazy girl! We love you dearly!
